As I cross the bridge in a serene Osaka garden, the sounds of the lily pond seep into my consciousness, the tall lotus stems gently bend under the weight of the luscious blooms and green pods and a dragonfly cruises the scene. There is a quiet joy as the big ruffled leaves whisper on the wind.
